Shinola Hotel | Nicole & Eric

We are so excited to share Nicole and Eric’s special day at the beautiful Shinola Boutique Hotel in Downtown Detroit! This rooftop garden venue has a stunning expansive view of the city and a glass conservatory nestled behind, with vaulted ceilings and a focal point marbled-wrapped bar. The bride wore a understated crepe strapless bridal gown, complimented by her bouquet full of pinks, peaches, and buttery yellow. Pink accents decorated the space, from the ceremony arch, to the dining napkins and taper candles; bringing alive the bride and groom’s vision of a dreamy, elegant, spring day. Nicole and Eric met in an arched hall for their first look, then took a walk around the city, capturing the most beautiful moments just strolling and chatting, catching excited glances from strangers before their ceremony.

After exchanging vows, the families found a detailed escort wall by Modernly Events, which made for a gorgeous statement piece during cocktail hour! Everyone grabbed a drink and got to mingling, while the bride and groom went into a private room to have a moment together. Over apps and champagne, Eric remembered something that was given to him at the end of the aisle by Nicole’s dad. When Nicole was little, her dad used to sway her to be obedient by telling her he was going to ‘return’ her to K-Mart if she was “bad.” Obviously as a little girl, she believed it. Eric reached in his suit jacket and found a Kmart receipt with Nicole’s baby photo.”All sales final. No returns or exchanges,” complete with her weight, date and time of her being born, and other cute birth certificate details. It was the most precious thing. Nicole’s dad said “she’s all yours now and here’s the receipt to prove it.” This was a stand-out moment of the day, just showing how family oriented they both are and how happy they are to be spending their lives together.

Soon, dinner took place, the bride and grooms’ brothers shared beautiful speeches, and everyone danced the night away.
