Stafford’s Perry Hotel Wedding | Liz and Josh
Choosing Stafford’s Perry Hotel in Petoskey, MI as the wedding venue was a no brainer for Liz and Josh. They have been going to Northern Michigan for several years, so when it was time to plan their nuptials, this was the spot! And if Petoskey itself wasn’t charming enough, the event takes place right on a hill with a breathtaking view of Lake Michigan. And who doesn’t love a wedding venue that can also host your guests?
On June 17, the weather was a perfect 70 degrees and sunny. The only hiccup in the forecast was some wind that no one anticipated. The gusts were strong enough to blow over cocktail tables but no wind was going to blow out the good vibes of Liz and Josh’s day. With covid postponing their original wedding date and their love story 10 years in the making—these two were ready to celebrate!
As if it were planned, the wind died down just in time for Liz to walk down the aisle and every event to follow was flawless. Using our event design package we were able to bring Liz’s vision to life. The classic soft neutrals, sea glass escort cards and silk florals stole the show. It was the perfect combination between classic elegance and Northern Michigan touches. The champagne tower with Lake Michigan as the backdrop and subbing the cake cutting for some late night pizza were two of our favorite moments. I mean, now we’re convinced every couple needs to cut a pizza with ‘just married’ spelled out in ricotta.
When working with clients on event design we give them a wedding story questionnaire. One question we ask is, Where is your go-to happy place? Liz and Josh answered “Summertime, anywhere near the water and a good sunset” And they absolutely nailed it. The sunset was the icing on the cake for an unforgettable wedding day.
