Goals for February 2018
February is here and you know that means a recap of January goals and introducing my February goals for 2018. But before I dive into what progress I made (or didn’t) make on last month’s goals I want to talk about how goal setting has drastically changed my life.
Goal setting has given me something to work towards, something to keep my “eye on the prize” and over the past 2 years of solid goal setting I have been able to quit my corporate job and go full time with Stellaluna Events, increase my income, find more intentional time with family and friends, pay off debt, save for the future, travel and so much more. So if you are sitting here and wondering if goal setting is for you I highly encourage you to try it for just one month and see what an impact it can make.
Now let’s dig into my goals from January 2018!
- Start and finish Girl Boss. Check! This was a great read if you are a small biz owner and want inspiration on how to do it differently.
- Go cross country skiing. Nope, one day.
- Work out 4 times a week every week. Half check! There were some weeks I worked out 5 days a week and other weeks I worked out less. Either way a year ago I wasn’t working out at all so this is improvement.
- Wake up at 6am at least 5 days a week and start my days earlier. Nope, I started the month waking up at 5:30am and found myself so tired so then I moved to 6am and the last 2 weeks of the month I was waking up at 6:30am.
- Find a healthy meal planning system that works for me. Check! Though is is constantly improving I am finding a healthier way to eat instead of running off to Qdoba every night.
- Blog to Sailors Delight once a week, every week. Nope, I realized that when I was “forcing” myself to post once a week it felt more like work then joy. So now I am posting as I feel inspired.
- Have a date night with Eric once a week, every week. Check!
- Plan a our own “wedding planning weekend” for the summertime. Check! We started planning this.
- Finishing painting our dining room table and chairs…that I started in July… Nope, I learned I needed to use a different paint and basically have to start all over again.
- Simplify our possessions – go through each container, closet, room, etc. and throw away/ donate things that don’t make us 100% happy. Half check! Though I didn’t go through every container, closet and room I did go through many.
Pretty great start to 2018 if you ask me! Below are my goals for February 2018.
- Start and finish The Little Book of Hygge.
- Workout 4 times a week.
- Only check social media 4 times a day (I would bet I currently check it 15+ times a day)
- Only check my email 3 times a day.
- Start a preparation list for wedding season to make my “busy” season less “busy”.
- Enjoy our San Diego vacation without working at all.
- Finish planning our own “wedding planning weekend” for the summertime.
- Practice watercolor painting more.
- Simplify my daily routine – I’m not sure what this entails but I’ve been feeling like my off-season has been way busier than normal so I am searching for ways to make my days a little less crazy.
- Drink 75 oz of water every day. Right now it is a miracle if I get 50 oz of water down in a day but I strongly believe water will improve my overall health.
If you can’t tell the theme of February is bettering my mental and physical health and finding more whitespace. I cannot wait to share how I did with these goals. Comment below and let me know what goals you have set for February!
