Goals for October 2017
Last month I decided I wanted to set goals for myself to make sure I didn’t let the end of summer/ beginning of fall slip away from me because it was so full of weddings. You can catch my September 2017 Goals here, but today I am sharing what I accomplished of those goals last month:
- Go out on the boat once a week – we love week night boat picnics or cocktail cruises
- Nope. Unfortunately this didn’t happen. Eric started a new position at work so his hours increased on top of all the weddings.
- Jump in the lake at least one more time.
- Check! During my stay on the beautiful Leelanau Peninsula I took a walk to the water for an evening swim. So refreshing!
- Get pumpkin ice cream at Plainwell Ice Cream (sounds gross but SO good!)
- Nope.
- Workout 4 times a week.
- Nope. Unless slinging buckets of flowers and wedding days count?
- Go apple picking.
- Check!
- Touch Lake Michigan one more time.
- Check!
- Carve out more intentional time in the morning – reading, light candles, coffee, etc.
- Check! I started reading and journaling in the mornings.
- Spend Sundays resting and doing something fun – after Saturday weddings Sundays are typically spent on the couch relaxing and I always feel like the day is wasted. So I want to spend the first half of the day resting on the couch and the second half doing something fun and relaxing (going for a walk, boat ride, going to Lake Michigan, etc.)
- Check! We spent a few Sundays on the lake and other just cleaning the house and hanging out together.
- Drink more water – this is something I always need to improve on especially during wedding weeks!
- Check!
- Post weekly on Sailors Delight – if you haven’t checked it out already this is my new Coastal Lifestyle Blog!
- Nope. Unfortunately SD took the back seat this month.
If you would have asked me 1 year ago if achieving 6 out of 10 goals was okay – I would very quickly tell you no with a lot of disappointment in myself. But this year after being too hard on myself and a lot of good conversation (check out my recap of the Hygge Retreat for that) I’ve learned that a goal is just a goal and it should be hard and sometimes unattainable or its not really something to strive for. So I am proud of myself for accomplishing 6 goals during my busiest (yeah I said the B-word!) month of the year.
And without further ado (and better late than never) here are my October 2017 goals:
- Go camping with friends.
- Go apple picking.
- Go out on the boat one last time before the season ends.
- Bake a pumpkin pie.
- Celebrate Halloween with friends and family.
- Get pumpkin ice cream at Plainwell Ice Cream.
- Find a workout routine that works for me.
- Have one last bonfire before the season ends.
- Start having weekly dates with Eric.
- Finally finish Make It Happen.
Those there we go! Almost 1/2 through the month and I determined to make these goals happen. Comment below with your October goals!
