Do you love weddings? Love the behind-the-scenes work and watching something come together? Team Stellaluna is a group of hard working, kind and down to earth individuals that love creating a special day for couples. Stellaluna Events welcomes all love, religions and beliefs. Team Stellaluna is nonjudgemental and accepting of all walk of life.

Under each position we listed the "locations needed" to let you know our current need. Please keep in mind Stellaluna Events is rapidly expanding beyond Michigan and we are always looking for talent nationwide. Also, almost all of these positions require working on Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays. If you do not have weekends available these probably aren't the best positions for you.

Associate Coordinators

Locations needed: Northwest MI & Southwest MI/Northwest IN

There are no immediate positions open at this time, but feel free to apply below and we will touch base when positions open up. 

Associate Coordinators are the lead on wedding days. They are assigned their own Stellaluna Events couples that they work with from the moment they book, to the moment the last song is played at the wedding.

Experience coordinating events and weddings is required for this position and you also must serve as an Event Assistant on a handful of events before being considered for this role. Number of times needed to be an Event Assistant before advancing to an Associate Coordinator is based on experience and performance.

Please do not apply for this role unless you have experience and are prepared to be an Event Assistant. If you do not have experience, please consider our Event Assistant role (details below). Also note this position is a part-time and Associate Coordinators are issued 1099s at the end of each year. You are paid per wedding/event you execute and are required to execute a minimum of 5 weddings per year to remain an Associate Coordinator.

Requirement:

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to be on your feet for full wedding days (12-16 hours).
  • Experience in coordinating weddings or experience as an Event Assistant.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Calming presence and ability to work under stress.
  • Access to wifi, a computer and phone.
  • Ability to answer client emails, phone calls and attend meetings Monday-Friday (actual times are flexible).
  • Ability to drive and has reliable transportation to and from events.
  • Great time management.
  • Proficient verbal and written skills.

Event Assistants

Locations needed: Northwest MI & Southwest MI/Northwest IN

There are no immediate positions open at this time, but feel free to apply below and we will touch base when positions open up. 

Event Assistants are the Associate Coordinators right hand person and help make the wedding/event day go off smoothly. This includes setting up decor, helping manage the timeline, cleaning up at the end of the night and assisting the Associate Coordinator with whatever they need.

Experience coordinating events and weddings is not required, but a plus. This position is on a "per-need" basis and is determined by your availability.

Event Assistants are issued 1099s at the end of each year. You are paid per wedding/event you execute and are required to execute a minimum of 3 weddings per year to remain an Event Assistant.

FAQs:

Do you hire interns? We have hired interns in the past past and it is totally dependent on our needs. If we are currently hiring interns you will see it posted under the available positions above.

How many hours does each position have available? Number of hours depend on how many weddings and events you are able to take on. The more availability you have on summer weekends the better. Associate Coordinators normally equal out to less than part-time and Event Assistants equal out to 10-20 hours a month.

I applied but I haven't heard back - when will you get back to me? Due to a large amount of applications and interest, we can only respond to those who we are interested in moving forward with. It will take us a few weeks to review each application so if you don't hear from us right away, don't sweat it.

I want to start my own wedding planning business, can I shadow you? We currently don't allow anyone but training Event Assistants to shadow on wedding days.
