Northern Michigan Wedding Weekend | Melissa & Ed
We are so excited to share Melissa and Ed’s wedding weekend in Northern Michigan! What a great reason to bring family and friends together in such a gorgeous place. Their choice of venues were impeccable- each so photogenic and special in their own ways. We kicked off the celebration with a small ceremony at a Private Residence in Manistee. It was warm and breezy, the perfect turnout for an outdoor wedding sitting just above Lake Michigan. The bridal party wore beautiful light pink chiffon dresses, and Melissa and Ed’s daughters followed with pink tulle dresses paired with little white cardigans. Lake Michigan looked stunning (!!) in a full panoramic view behind the couple as they exchanged their vows. The guests sat in an arched arrangement on the edge of the bluff, and sipped champagne that was served to them on their walk through the backyard.
The guests were then shuttled to Lakestar Farms- a spectacular, mindfully refurbished, ironclad dairy stable. The extra wide farm table stretched the entire length of the barn, and was decorated with an ample amount of greenery and candles. Lights and white, airy fabric were strung into the beams above head, and gold and pink accents were sprinkled throughout both the dinner and cocktail area. The kids were kept occupied with a coloring table mimicking the large table’s tablescape, for a cohesive and functional welcome dinner. On the menu, Grey Ghost from downtown Detroit made a mouthwatering four course meal; standouts being the sweet pea ravioli, chicken paillard, cremini mushroom au poivre, and a strawberry shortcake macaroon- all with a wine pairing for each bite!
The festivities continued that weekend at Crystal Mountain, where we were able to set up the most beautiful reception at the bottom of the ski hill. Circular tables were decorated under a white tent, some with greenery and candles, while others showed off understated gold vases filled with shades of pink and white florals. Gold signs held the seating chart, table numbers, a Moomer’s ice cream menu, and drink lists, one drink being a cosmopolitan titled “Where It All Began.” It was a cloudy morning, but by afternoon the sun had come out to party too! It was the perfect summer day to celebrate all of the love in the air.
