Fernwood Botanical Garden Wedding | Niles, MI | Mike + Theresa

To call a candlelit evening in the garden “magical” is an understatement. Mike & Theresa’s Fernwood Botanical Garden wedding was definitely not lacking in magic. Coming from Chicago and the busy city life, they found an escape in this beautiful garden setting.

Theresa has an eye for design and detail, and her vision for the day was stunning. What I loved the most about working with Mike, Theresa, and their sweet parents was they constantly kept their guests’ experience in mind and designed their day around it. To be a guest at this soiree looked like an interactive tour through the gardens, a moscow mule bar, champagne station, a basket of scarves when the sun went down, a variety of dessert options, and flatbreads for a late night snack.  No detail was overlooked.

Mike & Theresa happened to marry the same day Theresa’s grandfather turned 95. They were excited to share their day and surprised him with a personal cake just for him. Moments before they delivered his cake and he was asking if it was dessert time yet, so needless to say he was excited about his sweet treat.
