Loft 310 Chapel: Wedding Ceremony Venue in Kalamazoo

The Loft 310 Chapel is a new space that just opened up in Kalamazoo, Michigan and I am loving it! If you have never heard of Loft 310 or the Entertainment District let me first start there.

Loft 310 is a beautiful wedding venue located in the heart of downtown Kalamazoo complete with two gorgeous white exposed brick loft spaces, penthouses, multiple bar options for cocktail hours, a rooftop ceremony and/or cocktail hour site and so much more. What I love the most about this venue is you get so many different options and styles for venues in an area that is so close to most hotels and accommodations for your guests – plus the Loft 310 team is so wonderful and great to work with!

In September of 2019 they introduced their newest space, the Loft 310 Chapel, to downtown Kalamazoo. The chapel is located within (a short) walking distance from the loft venues and is its own unique building with lots of charm and character.

When you first enter into the space from the front door you instantly get the view of the front (aka alter) of the chapel (image below). To your left is a small single person restroom and to your right are stairs leading up to the suite, which I will talk more about below. There is a small foyer before walking into the open chapel space. The other restroom in the venue is located toward the alter space, which can be a bit of a challenge during the ceremony. So I would make sure you encourage guests to use the restroom before the ceremony and keep the door shut during the ceremony for beautiful photos.

All of the ceilings and walls in the chapel are painted white and the windows have black trim. All of the lighting fixtures and hardware are a beautiful matte gold that adds the perfect contrast to the all white space. Just like many of the venue spaces at Loft 310 & The Entertainment District chairs are included in the rental. The chapel comes with these lovely modern white padded folding chairs that pairs so perfectly with the all white space. To some this may seem like too much white, but what is fun about is it is a clean canvas – so you can add your own color, style and finesse to the space and make it feel like your own.

The space can hold a large number of guests for a ceremony then you would imagine. The space is equipped to hold up to 200 guests for a ceremony and standing cocktail and up to 100 guests for a reception/seated dinner. The space is also fully equipped with sound and A/V so you already have that covered for your event.

Another fun detail is they allow dogs for a short time at a ceremony, which was so special for Tom and Celeste’s wedding because they got to have their adorable pup, Winston, as their ring bearer.

One of the other awesome details about the chapel is the beautiful suite on the second floor that has a fun look out window to the event space. The suite is large with lots of cozy sofas, places to hang coats/dresses and tables to drop beverages and other items. It’s a perfect space to hide the couple and wedding party before the ceremony and to sign the marriage license after the ceremony.

The Loft 310 Chapel is one of my favorite event venues in the Kalamazoo, Michigan area and I would highly recommend it to any couple looking to host a modern wedding and/or an intimate reception.
