A Timeless Winter Wedding | Jules & Arthur
Jules and Arthur’s winter wedding proved that classic never goes out of style. Set in the heart of Grand Rapids at McKay Tower, their day was filled with timeless elegance and intentional details. A sweet, easygoing couple, who now call Texas home, planned their wedding in Michigan, bringing everything back to the groom’s roots. Glam was flawlessly brought to life by The Pretty Committee and CRC Bridal Beauty, complimenting Jules’ classy bridal gown and her bridesmaids’ maroon dresses – each one unique in pattern and style. Arthur and his groomsmen kept it timeless in classic black tuxedos, perfectly complimenting the day’s elegant feel.
The ceremony space, speckled with gorgeous maroon, blush and green florals from Posh Petals, set the tone for a romantic celebration. Tall white pillars and soft, looped draping lined the space, while the deep green patterned carpet added just the right amount of richness. Following the ceremony, Stephen Nooregaard photographed Jules and Arthur outside the venue, where Jules layered a cream faux-fur coat that felt so fitting for the winter aesthetic.
Heading inside to the reception, tiered glass candle vases lined the guests’ tables, accompanied by custom menus and name cards, matching floral centerpieces and rich green napkins. Grand chandeliers lined the ceiling, adding to the venue’s wow factor. Thoughtful details added intention, with napkins showcasing the couple’s dogs, Maeve and Millie, along with custom matchboxes for guests. Gilmore Catering served starters of cherry walnut salad and spent grain bread, followed by guests’ choice of braised short rib, Tuscan chicken or pesto gnocchi, with dessert featuring cookies from Nantucket Baking Co.
A nod to their love for speakeasies, McKay Tower’s hidden speakeasy was open for a couple of hours during the reception, adding such a fun surprise for guests. Steve Anzivino provided entertainment for the night, guiding emotional first dances and creating a lively dance floor. It was a beautiful wedding day filled with timeless details, sweet moments and a packed dance floor to end the night.
